A still life painted from life, bringing together a vivid rose, old apothecary bottles, silver and glass, and an old family photograph.
I was drawn to the contrast between the brilliant colour of the rose and the dark, restrained objects around it, and to the sense of history that these familiar old things create.
This is an original oil painting, not a print, and there is only one.
